In case of loan, hire, or disposal of items of equipment an RFID chip may be inserted to guarantee traceability.
Regulations require that items of PPE carry fail-proof traceability, in order to inspect and manage it at regular intervals.
• This chip stems from RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, a system of identification based on the emission of an electromagnetic field which is 'read' by an antenna coupled to an electronic chip.
• It is encapsulated in a cover rendering it resistant from -50 to +80 C, shock-resistant, and completely waterproof. The chip, carefully inserted and carrying the individual number on the end of the rope (see video) or on the harness (see video) will, with advantage, replace the classic end-of-rope identification which often disappears in heavy use. If you are cutting a reel of rope to make a number of PPE items, or if you want chips for your harnesses, you may buy 'open' chips and connect them into the Beal management system. (See diagram below).
